Which is why your performance and innovation will find a reception here like nowhere else as you help people live healthier lives while doing your life's best work.(sm) Primary Responsibilities:Responsible for Accounts Receivable for Pharmacy / Durable Medical Equipment (DME)Understand and comply with all governmental, regulatory and company billing and compliance regulations / policies including but not limited to Medicare and Medicaid programsReview of HCFAs and patient invoices for appropriate coding, charges, allowables, co-pays and supporting documentationReview and log ICD10 Coding Errors and related correspondence and corrective actions taken to ensure proper paymentFollow-up with payors, patients and other appropriate parties to collect open billings in a timely manner and to ensure compliance with billing regulationsIdentify and report to management payor issues with regards to billing and collectionResponsible for chart audits, review billing edit and bills on hold reportCommunicate in writing and by telephone with patients for resolution of billing or customer service issuesObtain authorization for services to be performed from insurance payersOther duties and projects as assignedResponsible for payment posting, credits, and working insurance and private ATBsClaims preparation and processingApplies knowledge / skills to activities that often vary from day to dayDemonstrates a moderate level of knowledge and skills in own functionSolves routine problems on ownWorks with supervisor to solve more complex problemsPrioritizes and organizes own work toRequired Qualifications:High school education or equivalent experience2 Years of Medical / DME billing experienceKnowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codingRequires little assistance with standard and non-standard requestsExcellent written and verbal communication skills Careers with Optum.
