ROLE of the POSITION The Associate Director assists the Director in primary and contract research projects. Moreover, the successful candidate will possess the skills and attributes necessary to assume the role of Director in a few years. Research topics include, but are not limited to, labor-market profiles, economic forecasts, demographic and labor-force analyses, market and industry analyses, economic-impact studies, real estate analyses, and other issues, and presents the results clearly in written and oral formats. The successful candidate will also present at Economic Outlook Conferences. Responsibilities also include continuing development and marketing of the Center; assisting government agencies and firms with analysis of local, state, and national business and economic conditions; interacting with local, state, and national media with respect to economic conditions and policies in the region and serving as a spokesperson for the Lee Business School on these matters; generating externally funded grants and projects; and all other related duties as assigned. The successful candidate will work as part of a team with the Director and the other staff in fulfilling the Center's duties. QUALIFICATIONS This position requires a master's degree or higher in Economics, Finance, or related field from an AACSB-accredited college or university. A PhD is a plus, but not required. Successful applicants will possess excellent statistical and econometric skills as well as significant applied research experience. Successful candidates will also have proven ability to garner externally funded research, documented ability of effective communication both verbally and orally, and prior experience working cooperatively with government agencies and private industry. Finally, the position requires explicit knowledge of E-Views, Stata, and other software. Knowledge of and experience with the REMI software for economic impact analyses is a plus, but not a requirement. SALARY RANGE Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
