Grade: It is the primary responsibility of the Specialist to support and assist in the implementation and maintenance of business solutions across Gaming Audit and Accounting department, Finance Shared Services Center (FSSC) and Finance Organization through the execution of established project management methodologies. This position requires a mixture of technical work, analytical work, and interaction with business leaders. In this position, the Specialist will provide analytical and strategic support to the Gaming Audit and Accounting team at all levels.The Specialist will work in a team environment to support and assist to develop and implement alternate methodologies and procedures that will enhance the Organization's business practices. The Gaming Audit and Accounting Specialist is responsible for research, aiding in the development, coordination, and implementation of the tasks associated with supporting the Gaming Audit and Accounting projects and initiatives. The Gaming Audit and Accounting Specialist would also help administer and oversee the department's automated document workflow system. The Specialist will support the Director of Gaming Audit and Accounting in facilitating implementation of best practices through project management to achieve standardization across all finance related functions. This position supports finance and accounting activities for The Company, and will also support continuous improvement initiatives and events as well as ensuring compliance with MGM Resorts International policies and procedures, SOX, gaming regulations and Internal Control requirements for their responsible process.Supports, develops and maintains effective communication and excellent relationship with internal customers (included but not limited to business units, operations, property CFOs) including ensuring their requirements are identified and consistently met.Administer and oversee the department's automated document workflow system.Assists with the management of systems implementations and/or processes related developments which are initiated externally or by the FSSC to ensure that requirements are met and/or work efficiently enhanced while ensure GCB regulatory compliance.Ensure proper planning and resource availability for assigned projects; develop, design, measure and ensure analytical and control activities are operating effectively within the department; Supervise projects according to plans.Promotes an effective relationship between the FSSC, the business unit, other corporate departments and ensures effective operational processes.Enhances internal customer service through the implementation of reporting and processing improvements as well as promotion of service oriented approach within all functional responsibilities.Drives and oversees continuous measurement, development and improvement of customer service quality and efficiency in with and on behalf of senior management across the FSSC.Provide concise project related reporting to appropriate audiences.Determine appropriate strategies and business plans to meet the performance requirements.Ability to identify opportunities and innovative ideas and communicate them effectively.Performs all other job related duties as requested.Required: Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or equivalent.At least 1 year of experience in the Gaming industry.Previous experience and advanced knowledge of excel including conditional formatting and advanced calculations/functions.Previous experience with and advanced knowledge of SQL and Cognos 10.Excellent customer service skills.Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.Professional appearance and demeanor.Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.Previous experience using financial mainframe applications including ability to import and export data to and from mainframe applications and Microsoft programs.High School diploma or equivalent.Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.Preferred:Previous knowledge and experience with MGM Resorts International gaming and financial systems (Tandem, CMS, Machine Accounting, CBS, Bravo Poker, XpertX, Mlife, Infinium, Showcase Strategy, Cognos Finance.).Previous experience working in a casino resort or Financial Shared Services Center setting.Previous project management experience.Successful participation in the development of a process improvement or automation project.Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
