Position Overview: 13;
The primary responsibility of the Senior Accountant is to perform varied accounting functions including, but not limited to, manage month end closing process, record journal entries, prepare / review account reconciliations, financial analysis preparation, perform joint venture accounting / retail accounting / fixed asset accounting and other related responsibilities. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Las Vegas Sands policies, practices, and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 13;
:Communicates regular status updates
:Performs work with adherence to the global standards, protocols, and policies
:Supports the execution of internal operational improvement strategies
:Builds relationships with Operations contacts
:Ensures quality output
:Ensures the production of accurate and timely financial information in accordance with GAAP and LVS accounting policies
:Adhere to Company policies regarding closing process, account reconciliation procedures and standards
:Perform day:to:day accounting activities for your assigned areas
:Prepare monthly account reconciliations, analysis, journal entries, etc. in connection with the closing process
:Maintain, prepare and record transactions to the General Ledger
:Work closely with Accounting Managers to handle keying and posting of accounting transactions for general ledger maintenance
:Assist other accountants in preparing trend analysis and other special analysis
:Generate ad hoc accounting reports as needed
:Assists in managing the P and L for the operational group(s) assigned
:Performs additional duties as directed by management
:Assess, evaluate and review data for organizing projects and/or providing direction on activities, tasks or processes in accordance with company guidelines.
:Arrange timeline to complete tasks and department assignments or projects, and meet the deadlines related to those assignments.
:Work on actual project or service to help achieve the objectives of the department.
:Evaluate information to render an opinion or take action based on that information that will impact the department or function.
:Possess skills to hasten resolution, assess course of action, and implement or take action based upon findings.
:Direct others in completion of a task or assignment.
:Render advice, and provide expertise or judgment based on information gathered, studied, analyzed or reviewed.

Minimum Qualifications: 13;
:Must be at least 21 years of age
:3 years finance/accounting experience within industry or public accounting firm is required.
:Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting or similar is required.
:Must have experience with financial analysis.
:Candidate must possess strong PC skills such as Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint, have a basic working knowledge of mainframe financial systems (AS 400, Infinium and or Crystal software a plus) and be familiar with database software such as Cognos.
:CPA or equivalent preferred.
:Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States
:High school diploma or equivalent
:Ability to communicate effectively in a positive/upbeat fashion utilizing English, both in oral and written form.
:Interpersonal skills with focused attention to guest needs to deal effectively with all business contacts.
:Must be able to work with others, communicate well, give direction, review the work of others, and provide guidance and counsel when needed to achieve department goals and objectives.
:Must maintain a positive attitude toward work and interface with hotel guests in a congenial and polite manner.
