ROLE of the POSITION Reporting to the Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs, the Director of Development for Leadership Giving and the Annual Fund will manage a comprehensive leadership-level engagement program for the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Growing the Rebel Athletic Fund - Annual Fund will represent a principal priority with a strict focus on expanding engagement, growing affinity, attracting new donors and increasing funds raised. It will be the Director's responsibility, with support from the Senior Associate Athletic Director, to assure constant alignment between the Annual Fund and the goals and priorities set forth by the Director of Athletics. The Director will be innovative applying a best-practice approach to all facets of the annual giving operation to include donor communications, strategic messaging, external engagement, donor retention, event management and stewardship. Utilizing digital / web tools to enhance outreach is essential. Collaboration with both Athletics Marketing and Athletics Communications is equally important assuring efficiency, consistency and external impact. Strategically expanding engagement through the Annual Fund will positively impact ticket sales / revenue generation (operational) associated with premium seating. Working, when applicable, with the UNLV Foundation and the Alumni Association to enhance efficiency and outreach is also expected. Additionally, the Annual Fund must serve as a data-acquisition and management platform to serve the Rebel Athletic Fund's expanding major gifts program. The Director, therefore, must be able to effectively manage large data sets, be competent with donor management software to include (Advantage and Raiser's Edge), understand gift processing, receipting and stewardship, and possess exceptionally strong communication skills. QUALIFICATIONS This position requires a Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university and a minimum of two (2) years related professional experience. In addition proficiency in web-based communications / digital messaging is required along with competency / proficiency working with donor management software / database systems (specifically Advantage and Raiser's Edge). Experience with graphic design softward (ie: InDesign) preferred. SALARY RANGE Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
