Position Overview: 13;
The responsibility of the Director of Convention Sales is to lead the team that executes the companies direct sales strategies to meet/exceed business financial goals.
All duties to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian The Palazzo Casino Resorts policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 13;
:Achieve and exceed financial goals set by Management.
:Manage designated sales team and activities to secure new and repeat business that align with company financial objectives, maximize revenues and meet the goals of the sales plan and strategies.
:Collaborate with Vice President of Sales and Executive Director of Convention Sales to develop and implement sales plans that align with short term and long term business strategy and goals.
:Review contracts, file turnovers and quality of teams bookings.
:Suggest innovative sales ideas and deployment strategies to grow market share.
:Provide effective coaching to sales managers on the companys fundamental selling philosophies, strategies, systems and techniques which includes producing individualized development plans as directed.
:Facilitate performance conversations to meet accountability of the performance goals of the business.
:Understand the overall market competitors strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand and how to coach team to sell against them.
:Understand and ability to communicate to the Sales Team economic trends, industry trends, regulations and potential new business opportunities.
:Manage, maintain and report accurate team forecasts, bookings pace, business plans, quarterly action plans, travel schedule, comp tracking and team expense budget.
:As a leader, develop and support convention sales team in the hiring process, performance management and sales management development to reduce turnover and fill internal open positions with the most qualified talent.
:Review and approve group business opportunities and contracts within defined thresholds to ensure business objectives are met.
:Maintain and enforce culture, office and systems standards, defined sales roles, policies and procedures and customer service levels.
:Establish and maintain effective cross functional relationships to identify ways of working together that make it easier to do business internally and with our customers.
:Where appropriate, plan sales trips to major market areas and report new market potential areas that should be covered.
:Accompany team members during familiarization site visits of hotel for major clients as necessary.
:Attend major trade and travel functions as needed. (i.e.: Tradeshows).
:Regularly entertain major clients of Hotel.
:Regular Travel as needed: domestic and international. 13;

:Manage and maintain designated sales team budgetary expenses.
:Manage sales processes and systems (CRM, role responsibilities, etc.)

:Manage Sales Revenue growth and KPIs for designated team.

:Talent Management/Development : Recruit, on:board, retain, recognize and develop the next generation of leaders.
:Business Industry Knowledge : understand the market in which business operates
:Strategic Management : active engagement in and management of the analysis, ideas, decisions and actions that create, implement and sustain a competitive advantage for the business at the territory and account level.
:Tactical Management : active engagement in the Sales Manager/ go:to:market aspects of the sale.

:Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job
