It is responsibility of the SKYLOFT Housekeeping Manager to oversee and ensure the smooth operation of their assigned Loft services area. Create a work environment that promotes team work, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee's satisfaction. Incumbent assigns workload to loft attendants and loft Gentlemen's, inspect Lofts and performs work as loft attendants on the case of an emergency. All duties are to be performed in accordance with the departmental and MGM Grand. Policies, practices and procedure, as well as within the frame work and intent of the MGM Grand and SKYLOFTS Mission Statement.

* Supervise trains, directs, and assists all loft services staff assigned to their areas.

* Distributes workload fairly and evenly to those assigned to their areas, make sure employees complete credits.

* Conducts daily briefings and schedules meetings with Loft Attendants and Loft Gentleman's.

* Responsible for all keys assigned to the shift.

* Ensure the cleanliness of all lofts, hallways, lockers, and lobbies and that the work is done properly and to standards.

* Complete Loft status reports in the morning and afternoon and forward them to the concierge office.

* Update reports on a daily basics.

* Complied with the procedure when open or closing shift.

* Inspect seven to ten lofts a day occupied and due out lofts, to ensure that the service levels are in accordance to the Skyloft standards.

* Conduct a quality control inspection at least once a week for each employee assigned to shift to ensure employees job performance is up to the standards of Skylofts.

* Reports to the Loft services Assistant Executive any loft Attendants that will not complete their assigned duties.

* Monitor Loft Attendants and Loft gentleman's work performance and communicates any areas below departmental standards to Assistant Executive Housekeeper.

* Counsel and discipline Loft Service employees that violate department and /or MGM Grand Policies, practices, or procedures through progressive counseling guidelines and inform Assistant Executive.

* Provide regular feedback to Loft Attendants and Loft Gentleman's on specific job responsibilities and guest service. Conduct formal performance evaluation appraisals as required in coordination with the Assistant Executive Housekeeper.

* Maintain an effective and productive working relationship with all MGM Grand Hotel departments. Understands the duties and functions of other departments/activities and how they affect or interact with loft services department.

* Empower the loft attendants to accommodate guest needs and or requests within the scope of the position.

* Promote the MGM Grand and Skylofts Class philosophy and culture. Serve as a role model for assigned Loft Attendant and Loft Gentleman.

* Provide additional orientation, training and support of new employees as needed.

* Sets and Evaluates service standards based on completeness and timeliness. Emphasizes a teamwork and interdepartmental approach to meeting service standards and guest expectations.

* Notifies Manager / Hotel administration and security personnel of all unusual events, circumstances, missing items and alleged thefts.

* Effectively investigates reports and follow ups on employees and guest incidents/discrepancies, maintaining all levels of confidentiality. Inform Assistant Executive.

* respond to emergency situations.

* Ensure that lost & found procedures are implemented.

* Performs all other job related duties as requested.

Required:

* At least 1 year of hotel housekeeping manager supervisory experience.

* Excellent customer service skills.

* Able to lead and mentor a team

* Have interpersonal skill to deal effectively with all business contacts.

* Professional appearance and demeanor.

* Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

* High school diploma or equivalent.

* Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.

Preferred:

* Bilingual.

* Previous experience working in a similar resort setting
