Learning and Development Manager Responsibilities: Oversees the training and development for all employees Assesses departmental needs and coordinates training development Ensures organizational systems, programs, policies, and procedures are implemented as required and that the department complieswith relevant legal mandates Works collaboratively with leaders across the organization to identify needs and leverage subject matter experts for curriculum and program development; builds relationships, gains buy-in and negotiates responsibility with key stakeholders Manages training budget and training resource allocation; projects financial impacts of proposed training strategies and compares to actual results Contracts with external resources for competency assessments and skills training to deliver high quality training and educational programs Consults with all levels of management on employee training and development, organizational effectiveness, and identifies opportunities for performance improvement Develops and delivers leadership development training, including but not limited to: team development, coaching, performance management, project management, train-the-trainer, orientation/onboarding, and compliance training Creates relevant learning material in various delivery methods to include on-demand and just-in-time Reviews materials as needed for consistency and clarity Handles various other duties as delegated by the VP, Training & Development Carries out all responsibilities in an honest, ethical, and professional manner Required Skills Required Skills: Supervisory Responsibilities: In accordance with applicable policies/procedures and Federal/State laws, may perform the following supervisory responsibilities: Interviewing, hiring, orienting and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in design, development, delivery, and evaluation of training programs Minimum of five (5) years experiences in a leadership or management role, managing direct reports required Experienced in MS Office Suite Strong knowledge of adult learning theory, application of experiential learning theories, instructional design processes/principles, and principles of leadership and team development Ability to conduct research and apply relevant information to training programs that support organizational effectiveness Ability to meet tight deadlines Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees American Homes 4 Rent (NYSE: AMH) is a leader in the single-family home rental industry and is fast becoming a nationally recognized brand, known for high quality, good value and tenant satisfaction.
