SunPower is seeking a LeadPV Technician to perform scheduled and unscheduled fieldwork required to operate and maintain the Boulder City and Las Vegas region Solar projects. Fieldwork includes commissioning new systems, training of on:site customer personnel, preventive maintenance site visits, corrective maintenance site visits, and system testing. The Lead PV Technician may also be assigned the responsibility for observing the quality and safety of a contractor performing PV System Technician maintenance and commissioning type work. The Lead PV Tech will also be responsible for training otherPV Techs.The PV Technician reports to the region manager.
Some travel may be required for this position.
:Troubleshoot and repair of DC, low voltage AC, data acquisition and meteorological station PV systems components.
:Tests to be performed by a PV Technician include:
:Open circuit voltage
:Operating DC current
:Power Meter verification
:Perform preventive maintenance on PV systems to include thermography of low and medium voltage equipment.
:Audit third party systems as directed for potential sales of O and M service contracts.
:Identify, coordinate, and observe work contractors performing troubleshooting and repairs for item 1 above, medium voltage equipment, and other troubleshooting and repairs.
:Document time, material, expenses and maintenance records in O and Ms computer based maintenance management system.
:Complete assigned training and qualification requirements within a specified time frame, including meeting or exceeding minimum test score requirements.
:Prepare reports and communicate to customers the results of maintenance activities.
:Perform other duties assigned including procedure development and revision.
:Must live within 50 miles of the project site.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
:Practical experience with electrical wiring and basic construction practices required.
:Experience with metering and test equipment.
:Ability to organize, prioritize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
:Ability to demonstrate a responsive, customer service approach to listening and responding to requests.
:Ability to communicate status of work activities and issues with peers and management as they relate to projects and tasks.
