Grade: It is the primary responsibility of the Bartender to mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and serve food when needed while providing courteous and prompt service to owners and guests. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Signature policies, practicesand procedures. Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for owners and guests. Provide courteous and prompt bar side and tableside service to all owners and guests. Set, position and clear tables. Prepare all operating supplies for service. Greet owners and guests, present menus; make suggestions regarding food and beverages. Take orders, conduct full and complete food/wine/beverage service. Adhere to all responsible alcohol consumption requirements; use authority to refuse drinks to owners and guests who show signs of intoxication or disorderly conduct. Ring all orders into POS system, present check and receive payment, maintain and reconcile cash bank. Bring all supplies and equipment, such as liquor, fruit, ice, glasses, linen and supplies, from storerooms to lounge. Fill ice bins. Return mixed glassware to dish room for sorting. Change beer kegs. Stock and prepare all operating supplies. Maintain a clean, neat, safe work area. Dust, mop, wash floors, dispose of trash, and wash fixtures and floor mats. May serve beverages at the pool as well as at banquets and other group functions held at The Signature. Performs all other job related duties as requested. Required: At lease 1 year of previos beverage experience in a similar position. Working knowledge of beverage service. Basic math skills, ability to handle cash and accurately make change. Manage multiple tasks. Excellent customer service skills. Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts. Professional appearance and demeanor. Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays. High school diploma or equivalent. Have documentation of successful completion of the Bartenders Local 165 Joint Apprenticeship Training Program and have passed the craft exam related to the program. Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms. Preferred: Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
