Data Virtualization Architect (Job Number:433244)
The Data Virtualization Architect will provide direct support to the United States Air Force Shadow Operation Center, Nellis Air Force Base (AFB), Nevada. In this position, the architect will work with USAF Shadow Operation Center stakeholders, both leadership and subject matter experts, and the Enterprise Data Architect to achieve the objectives of the Multi:Domain Command and Control (MDC2) Campaign Plan. Specifically, the architect will support the Enabling Technologies Line of Effort, delivering the required capabilities of the Shadow Operations Center concept and MDC2 goals:
: Perpetually enhance warfighting C2 concepts for all domain capabilities to improve integration and interdependence
: Perpetually enhance C2 processes to optimize MDO
: Leverage agile acquisition to fielded C2 systems in support of MDO
: Leverage advanced technology (AI, ML, etc.) to enhance and accelerate C2 functions
: Continually improve C2 interoperability with joint, coalition, and interagency forces
The architect will conduct an assessment of the Shadow Operations Center data environment, architect a data broker/virtualization environment and lead a team of engineers to:
: Develop logical and physical system architectures to support batch/streaming data ingest as well as federation, curation and analysis
: Develop data virtualization systems as applicable using open source or COTS tools
: Create a scalable operational infrastructure and data platform to acquire and develop MDC2 capability.
This work will support the creation of a virtualized (cloud: based) data structure for all relevant information (mission data, business data, applications, enterprise services, etc.) which will operate on a modern, open IT architecture with published common standards (data, messaging, interfaces, etc.)
: Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
: Must hold an active Top Secret Security Clearance (Top Secret SCI eligibility)
: Must have at least 9+ years' relevant experience in Data Architecture / Engineering / Senior Level Development Lead experience leading complex, enterprise:class, and multi:system integration environments.
: Must have in:depth understanding and hands:on experience with designing and developing enterprise:class system architectures
: Must have experience with data virtualization techniques including federation, applicable tools and design patterns
: A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering,
: Must be a highly effective communicator (both verbal and written) and possess excellent analytical and problem: solving skills
: A self:starter, performing day:to:day tasks with minimal supervision
: Depth in systems, applications, and data requirements analysis
: Experience with data ingest and curation processes as applicable to large:scale systems
: Understanding of data management and architectural principles, methods, and tools including DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) views
: Understanding of data modeling and database design
: Depth in established and emerging data technologies, especially as they apply to data virtualization
: Ability to conceive and portray the big data picture
: Depth in DoD information systems development within the joint, coalition, and interagency community Location
